Over the years, the Alpha Center has endured countless attacks from those who seek to keep abortion legal.  Their desire is to intimidate us in the hopes that we will give up and stop the life saving work we do.  These attacks have ranged from blatant lies about our services to baseless indictments against the Alpha Center to threats to harm our founders and building and so much more. 

Baseless Indictments

Many years ago, false allegations were made about the Alpha Center leading to indictments.  While the charges were dropped, enemies of the Alpha Center continue to repeat these lies.  An attorney who investigated these charges wrote a report about his findings.  The investigation was conducted without the Alpha Center's knowledge.

False CREW Allegations

In July of 2006, the Alpha Center was targeted by a leftwing special interest group in Washington, DC known as Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).  CREW sent a complaint to the IRS, demanding that it open an investigation to revoke the tax-exempt status of the Alpha Center.  Through support and assistance from the Alliance Defense Fund, CREW's false allegations were disproved by the IRS and the Alpha Center was given a clean bill of health.

While the attacks can take their toll, the Alpha Center will continue the work we have been called to.  We make every attempt to make the truth known about our center to those who have a honest desire to learn more.  However, we hope the fruit of our work will speak for itself.
