9/11 Story of Life – 10 years after Death and Destruction
Vivid memories come flooding back as our nation observes the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
This national emergency changed our lives forever, but perhaps not as much as for two twin girls and their mother. Most of the memories of that day are of painful tragedy, but the Alpha Center’s story is one of God turning the tragedy of that day into triumph!
Planned Parenthood of South Dakota flies their abortionists in from Minnesota and on the afternoon of 9/11/01, Planned Parenthood informed a young couple that her abortion appointment was cancelled because air traffic was halted.
Unsure of what to do, the young woman searched for a “solution”. They found a listing for the Alpha Center. The father dropped off his girlfriend and told her he would be back in two hours – plenty of time for what he thought would be an abortion and recovery.
However, when the young woman entered the Alpha Center, she learned about our services including FREE ultrasounds. “Well, since I can’t get an abortion today and I have two hours to kill, I may as well get an ultrasound,” she decided. To her amazement, the high tech ultrasound revealed a clear picture of twins inside her womb. She was shocked and said, “I can not do this, I’m a twin myself.” She and her twin sister were very close.
When her boyfriend returned, he also saw the twins through the ultrasound. The Alpha Center offered their support through counseling and any help they would need to get through the pregnancy.
A year later, shortly after 9/11, the young couple returned to the Alpha Center with the twin girls DRESSED IN RED, WHITE AND BLUE in their stroller.
9/11 saved these girls’ lives!
The lives of these twin girls is testimony to God working good in all things and that the Alpha Center is God’s instrument of life in a world filled with death and destruction.
What is the value of one human life? And the value of two? Beyond measure!
